Steven Ash

Steven Ash was born in 1951 in Cornwall, England and grew up on Wikwamikong on Lake Huron and Oshwegan in Ontario Native American Indian reservations in eastern Canada.

A man of extraordinary abilities as a healer and seer, he inherited and honed these talents with his father Dr. Michael Ash, who was the reservation doctor and the first doctor to practice acupuncture in the UK. Steven studied Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Tai Chi and Qi Kung and holds a doctorate in Radiesthesia. His profound connection with Mother Earth and her plant and mineral kingdom has enabled him to gain extensive insight into the healing abilities of plants and crystals, and to use this knowledge in the manufacture and development of the Rainbow Essences®. www.rainbowmedicinecircle.com Steven was adopted as spiritual grandson by Wallace Black Elk, and his spirit name Tatanka Wanagi Wichasta – Buffalo Spirit Man – was given to him by Eagle Man Ed McGaa.

Through his work in Sacred Drumming Steven organises drum making and drum practitioner courses in association with the College of Sound Healing www.collegeofsoundhealing.com Steven’s vision and life mission is to help facilitate the return of the Rainbow Tribe as predicted by Black Elk, and in his work and through his life he teaches and shares the concept of the Rainbow Medicine Circle as a basis for a healthy, flourishing family and community.

The power of the sacred drum lies in its ability to connect you with your bones, your heart beat and your natural rhythms. The drum acts as a mediator between heaven and earth, between the drummer and the spirits. The drum is the tool that allows the shaman/shamanka to travel safely between the worlds, to connect with another persons medicine and bring back that knowledge so that the person seeking healing can break through the barriers that keep them from being whole and connected.

Sacred Drumming Practitioner Course 2012

Enrolment is now open for the Second Sacred Drumming Practitioners Course starting in May 2012. The first practitioner’s course has been heralded as a great success by the participants who have bonded to form a cohesive, caring and warm drumming family.
The second course will build on the experiences of the first course with a very similar format. On the first weekend we will be making medicine drums and rattles in a ceremonial and getting to know each other setting. Working and helping each other to shift through the fears and limitations that come up with drum making, quickly we all become friends…more happens. By weekend 2 some drums have been painted and we awaken the drums together in the powers of the elements as we explore the knowledge and experience of the sacred directions of the Medicine Wheel.
