Gong players and sound therapists - want to make CD quality recordings, or improve the audio element of your social media postings? Then this two-day workshop is for you. Gongs and associated instruments are notoriously difficult to record well. In this workshop you will be introduced to the basic techniques required to do so using affordable yet high quality equipment. A key part of the workshop will be practical, with each participant involved in recording, editing and mixing a short piece of their own work. Topics to be covered include: Acoustics Recording equipment – hardware and software Microphone placement Monitoring Level setting Gain staging Editing techniques Mixing Video synchronisation Numbers will be limited to ensure enough one-to-one tuition. Feel free to bring along any musical instruments or portable recording devices. Large gongs are not required, however, as we will have several available.
