Songwriting can be a way to express feelings and ideas, perhaps more effectively than the spoken word alone. Come and learn the tools for crafting and shaping songs with Trixi, or, if you already have experience, nurture and develop your skills. We’ll explore lyrics, expressing ideas, shaping the words, finding rhymes, rhythm and mood. Then, speaking the words, we’ll find their natural melodic and rhythmic flow to create a song together. From there on you can start crafting your own songs. Lyric-based songwriting is the main method we’ll use, but we may touch upon others if time allows. Don’t worry if you’ve never written a song or think you might not be good enough; just enjoy exploring a new creative skill with other like-minded folk. (Bring an instrument if you like.)
