Full day of workshops with internationally acclaimed musicians, teachers and therapeutic sound practitioners Michael and Candida. *** Overtone singing *** Jew’s Harp Workshop *** Kirtan *** Overtone singing workshop: 10.00-13.00 Michael Ormiston and Candida Valentino are the UK's leading teachers of Mongolian Khöömii Overtone singing. Under their expert guidance you will discover how to listen for and produce vocal harmonics, Your voice will amaze you! You don’t need to be an accomplished singer or have any special musical ability - suitable for complete novices and experienced overtone singers. Jew’s harp workshop: 14.00-15.00 In many traditions Jew's harps (jaw harps) are used to communicate with the spirit world, relax the mind, send courting messages and for playing beautiful melodies. This ‘hands-on’ workshop is open for beginners and experienced players. Michael and Candida will bring a diverse collection of Jew's harps which they will share with you to explore, learn and play. Kirtan: 15.30-17.00 Join Candida and Michael in a journey of communion of voices using mantra and music with the accompaniment of harmonium, bouzouki and drums. Kirtan comes from the Bhakti yoga tradition, the path of devotion. Having its roots in India, the mantras are sung in the ancient vibrational language of Sanskrit. Essentially, Kirtan is a journey inwards to ourselves, a form of vocal meditation connecting us to our heart centre and creating union with our own being and each other within the group. It can induce spontaneous joyous expression, bliss and ecstasy.
