UK, LONDON - Gurus, Avatars, Siddhas and Masters: A Thomas Ashley-Farrand (Namadeva Acharya) Mantra Workshop, Satyabhama (Margalo Ashley-Farrand), The Study Society, Colet House, 151 Talgarth Road, London, W14 9DA, 24 Apr 2015

Guru Dattatreya PUJA: Friday 24th April • 7pm – 10pm
Weekend WORKSHOP: Saturday 25th (9:30am - 5:30pm) & Sunday 26th (10am - 6pm) April

All the great gurus and teachers want us to reach our highest potential. They dedicate their lives to our advancement. And they teach that we are divine. But what do we really know about these beings? By popular request, this program will address this topic.

What is a guru? How does a guru work with us? How do I know a supposed guru is genuine and not a fake or pretender? What are differences among gurus, sadgurus, and jagadgurus? What is an avatar and how is this being different from the others? And how are all of these different from siddhas (perfected beings) and masters?

As part of it the activities of the workshop, the life and teachings of Avadhuta Sadguru Dattatreya, reputed to be the very first Sadguru, will be discussed. There will also be material drawn from the works of Sadgurus Maher Baba and Sant Keshvadas, as well as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Here are some of the other topics also covered:
• Various types and categories of initiation, including mantra, shaktipat, shambhavi, sparsha, and others.
• The upaguru - the enlightener without form.
• The twenty-four teachers of Dattatreya, and his esoteric mantras.
• Divine Beings in human affairs.
• Frequencies of consciousness.
• Spiritual laws, including the Law of Prana, Law of the Last Thought, Law of Compensation, Law of the Spheres, and others.
• The Ego-Mind-Personality: Our vehicle of advancement.
• The Personal Spiritual Mosaic: Our unique individual journey.
• Practice of a classical spiritual discipline centered on the guru of one's choice, or to attract a genuine guru.

Satyabhama will lead extensive group chanting of mantra formulas and perform a Guru Dattatreya puja.

Sunday Satyabhama will read 2 or 3 chapters of the Avaduta Gita in the poetic English translation by Sadguru Sant Keshavadas.

All attendees will receive CD and a detailed handout of all mantras taught.

Satyabhama (Margalo Ashley-Farrand) was given the name Satyabhama by Sadguru Sant Keshavadas. In 1981, she completed his arduous Narvarna Sadhana and Shiva Sadhana. She follows the teachings of Sadguru Rama Mata, Sadguru Sant Keshavadas' widow, to whom he passed the lineage in 1997. Satyabhama has a Law degree and ran a private law practice until 2009. She is committed to making the world a better place in which Divine Law becomes the law of life.

A Vedic priest in her own right, Satyabhama worked with her husband Namadeva Acharya (international authority on Sanskrit mantra, Thomas Ashley-Farrand) in performing and teaching ancient mantra techniques and spiritual practices. Together they managed Saraswati Publications and founded Sanatana Dharma Satsang. In 2009, they both were initiated by Satguru Rama Mata to be gurus. On his passing in 2010, Namadeva transferred the lineage by initiation to his wife Satyabhama, who continues the mission given to them by their gurus
