Sandira runs workshops where she teaches the Vedic vocal tones that heal the Chakras and the Taoist tones to heal the 5 major body organs. Both the Vedic (Indian) and Taoist (Chinese) schools teach that the right vocal tone or sound can heal through pitch and vibration. For example the sound "Hoooow" is the Taoist sound for the spleen. We take a deep breath and make the sound while taking our attention to the spleen and imagine it being held. (It likes being in a confined space). We breathe in and make the sound while we feel the vibration of the sound in the spleen. Then we sit in silence, smiling down at the spleen and our mind goes into the most still and calm space. This facilitates a very deep meditation as it affects our normally active brain. We might feel a subtle change or calm in our body as we relax. The full effect might not be immediate but we usually do feel a difference when we wake the next day.? Sandira can also explain how the chakras or 5 major body organs affect the rest of our body and mental states. These exercises are great self-healing and take us into wonderful meditative states. We can take these exercises away with us and include them in our daily wellbeing program. The Workshop concludes with a full "whole body sound massage" using Sandira Gongs, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls and shamanic instruments.
