As the days draw shorter, join us for a cosy autumn evening of sound and nourishment in Avebury Village Hall. Beginning with a 'bring and share' supper starting at 6pm, we are delighted to be welcoming our very special guest Tim Chalice to lead us in 2 hours of Kirtan (devotional chanting) after dinner.
What is Kirtan? Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting whose roots go back over 500 years to India. It is a practice from Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion) and has the power to open the heart. The singing is accompanied by musical instruments, usually harmonium and tabla, and participants are encouraged to chant, clap and if the mood takes them, dance. Kirtan is incredibly simple and accessible, yet the results can be utterly transformative and profound. The practice is very joyful and a beautiful way to come and be together.

£10 for the evening, pay on the door. 6pm-9.30pm.
Please bring a vegetarian dish to share (and if you can easily do vegan and/or gluten free that's fabulous ;) ).
You may also like to bring your own mug for tea as the cups provided are quite small ;).
Also feel free to bring a blanket and cushion to make yourself comfy for the chanting.
The Kirtan will start at 7.30, you are welcome also to join us then if you are unable to attend the supper (price is £8 if you're joining for Kirtan only).
