Debunking

I found James d'Angelo's article refreshingly clear. It has been my view for quite some time that Chakras don't have absolute pitches attached to them. We are all different and if we see each other just as musical instruments then of necessity we are all different lengths and volumes. It is inevitable we that we will resonate differently.
Where I am still confused is the question of 'is there a relationship between chakra pitch whether relative or absolute and the Yoga' seed' sounds?'
Anyone care to comment?

I also found James' article interesting and thorough. James mentions that he is not sure how Alan Sales arrived at the different tunings of the Chakra Sound Forks. Alan (now sadly passed on) used Kinesiology to 'body dowse' for the frequency of the chakras. We use his method as part of our tuning fork training.
I use the system whereby each chakra has a note and I find it works really well. We know that energy does not conform to a particular linear model of tones, colours etc that can be pinned down and controlled by an exacting scale, however we have been trying to do just that for thousands of years. Whether it be a Bija mantra, a rhythm, a word, vowel sound, note, colour, essence or planet I see all of these methods as simply a 'way in' and an important focus for our intention as energy follows thought.
To be able to use a system - and that is, any system we need a framework to operate from - a point of reference. By using notes for the chakras I am focussing my intention in a more directed way at the chakra in question. It is no different from using a Bija or any other 'energetic key'.
That is not to say that an 'F' bowl will only 'work' on the heart chakra. The wonderful thing is that sound will go exactly where it is needed.

Yes this is fascinating and I agree we cannot stick with one note, one pitch on any energetic work. As Lyz says we need a point of reference, but because I work with voice which is an instrument all of its own with every variable possible. I do not work with pitch except for performance singing. I now only use forks to help a person adjust to receiving vibration rather than as healing per se. I do use vowel sounds and seed syllables, again to allow the person to explore their own sound. When they sound and sing, they don't pitch to anything initially so that they can resonate with their own vibrations.Whilst I have linked to chakra's in the past, I no longer do that. The vowel sounds and seed syllables work throughout the body's energy systems.
The persons own vocal expression as far as I am concerned is the ultimate healer and I see that voice not just as a singing voice but a voice in creative expression of music, art, fashion, architecture etc.
Each of these carry vibration and are vocalising the representation of that vibration.
