An extremely versatile instrument, the new 3 octave M4 shruti box enables the musician to select any octave from F2 upwards.
This gives the musician a wide range of octaves to work with.
As the instrument is also physically larger than a standard shruti box, it has a richer tone and longer sustain.
The M4 Shruti Box, sets a new standard in sound quality, ease of playing and construction. It provides an ideal accompaniment for the voice and musical exploration and can be enjoyed by anyone without training. Hand made from solid wood: the body is natural Tunwood; the reedboard is teak; the high grade metal reeds are from India's leading manufacturer.
Currently available in Low F, with a 3 octave chromatic scale based on A440 concert pitch:
M4 Low F:
Tonal range: Tonal range: 3 octave 36 tone chromatic scale from F2 to E5 (piano equivalent). Each of the 36 reeds are individually tuned and voiced.
Pitch: Sound: Features brass light-gauge reeds for a responsive, bright and full tone with characteristic subtle harmonics (often described by players as a 'warm' and 'pleasing' sound). It has a great detailed sound.
It has all the same features as the classic M1 and also features:
