The Singing Jar - High-grade Udu with Mic Jack
Jarimba means "Singing Jar". Unlike the classic Jarimba the Traveller model has no "belly". Therefore it is easier to transport, but not as loud as her bigger sister.
The concept of this Udu drum is built around the fact that the ceramic produces very high pitched sounds while simultaneously enabling a warm and rich bass. With the “Microphone inside!” system, it can be played on stage without feedback problems.
The Traveller Jarimba can be played with traditional hand-percussion techniques such as open tone, bass, slap, split-hand, floating hands, etc.
The body produces high singing sounds and a warm bass with long sustain. The neck enables you to modulate sound and sustain and the new conical shape of the neck prevents acoustic feedbacks.
The sound of the Traveller Jarimba focusses on the expansion of the ceramic sounds. She is easily mount on a Snare stand and so becomes a part of your drum setup. The Traveller Jarimba is designed and optimized for playing amplified. It comes with a microphone jack suitable for Shure Beta 98 or SM11 mics. (microphones not included) Using an internal microphone the bass sound can be amplified precisely and crisp.
Her flat shape makes it possible to transport the Traveller Jarimba easily in a usual cushioned snare hardcase.
The ceramic material is especially mixed for a great sound and sturdy structure. It's white ceramic surface is clear matt varnish.
