Terence Dolph is a singer and composer whose education includes 40 years of classical violin study. In 1982 he began recording his Eastern Opera Orchestra, consisting of bronze tam-tams, gongs, cymbals and woodblocks, all from Wuhan, China. This is an excellent meditation CD focusing on the tam-tams, exploring the lyrical qualities of these unusual bronze instruments, along with a broad variety of sounds expressing deep sonorities and subtle harmonics.
