Karen Grace

Karen Grace

As a young vocalist and musician, Karen was singing and writing popular music and recorded for Polydor Records, working with the best people in the Australian music industry including John Farnham and Skyhooks. She performed on national television shows, recorded radio and television commercials and won worldwide awards for her songwriting.

What she experienced in the commercial world led her to embark upon a personal healing journey into meditation, awareness techniques, colour therapy, sound therapy, kinesiology, NLP, raw foods, healthy living, yoga and other modalities. She became an Aura-Soma colour therapist, a Vibrational Retraining sound therapist and to learn Reiki. She also holds a Masters degree in singing. Her special gift is teaching self-expression by showing people their unique voice as reflected through the colours and sounds of the rainbow.

Once lacking confidence and terrified of improvising, Karen now channels spontaneous healing colour songs to audiences, transmitting the magical gifts of colour and sound. Her special courses, the Colours We Sing, use these magical gifts to help the average person enhance their self-expression and to develop more confidence and ease in singing, speaking and communicating.  Karen has over 20 years experience in teaching singing, song writing, self-expression, meditation and creativity. She facilitates personal journeying through colour, creativity, song, mantra, harmony singing, toning and meditation.

As well as doing healing work, Karen is course writer and Academic Head of Voice for the Academy of Music and Sound and has taught and written several courses for Thames Valley University and Tech Music Schools. Karen performs her music in a duo with Michael Forde and also with a six piece band and can be heard at Mind Body Spirit Festivals and occasional venues around the UK. She looks forward to meeting many beautiful souls on the journey.  Karen’s albums Metamorphosis and Healing Vibrations can be heard at her website at www.karen-grace.com where you can also read more about her activities.

Karen Grace is associated with the following Groups (e.g. institutions, schools, bands, societies etc.)

Some thoughts on dissonance.

In my earlier years as a musician I found that I had a preference for harmony and sweet chords, despite the attempts of my fantastically avante garde composer piano teacher to educate my ear to strange and wonderful chords and structures. I remember learning a very wierd and wonderful dissonant chordal arrangement on piano for Twinkle Twinkle Liread more

Making the link between colour and sound

I was living in Melbourne, Australia at the time, and a musician I was playing with told me about these little coloured healing bottles he’d seen at a Mind Body Spirit festival. I went along to the festival, looked at the Aura-Soma coloured bottles and thought they were mesmerising. At the time, however, making the link between colour and something as tangible as healing an ailment or emotional disturbance was alien to me. read more
