Spain, GRANADA - Yoga and the Somatic Voice, Hayley Price, , 11 Apr 2015

A rejuvenating journey into presence The course combines the ancient and modern teachings of East and West in a way that is easy to understand and integrate into modern life. Known as The Somatic Voice, it fuses Self Inquiry, Intuitive Movement, Yogic Practices and Vocal-Play, using activities that allow space to be present with ourselves and with each other. Starting from and responding to where you are, this is a journey into the heart. Explore your needs, desires and relationship to life. Become gently aware of the thoughts and habits that are no longer serving you. Uncover a kind and wise attitude toward yourself, others and life - to bring about greater clarity, discernment and authenticity. Your holiday offers practical techniques to lovingly come home to yourself with greater presence and awareness. It’s for you if you want to live with greater intimacy in relationship to yourself, community and life. SELF INQUIRY Hayley will draw upon decades of meditation practice and share tools for self inquiry. These will include the contemplative practice of Meditation, The Meditative Voice, and the deeply rejuvenating practice of Yoga Nidra. These tools can help to not only enhance awareness, but also to deeply relax and restore the body, mind, heart and spirit. Every session with Hayley will have an emphasis on Self Inquiry and will be woven into each part of this entire experience. YOGA AND INTUITIVE MOVEMENT Hayley will share a somatic approach to yoga that incorporates mindful and intuitive movement anchored in the body by the breath. The practice is tailored to the needs of the practitioners and allows for adaption in both sequence and form. This encourages the practitioner to develop their own unique relationship with their body, mind, spirit and practice (Sadhana). Each session has a focus on enhancing awareness alongside a safe and effective practice that can both challenge and deeply relax. The emphasis is on evoking and embodying a loving state of presence and awareness that can be utilised not just on the mat but also in daily life. VOCAL-PLAY Vocal-Play is both a contemplative and expressive exploration of the voice as a tool for Self Inquiry. We will use the voice to explore our present experience, as well as to connect with each other through joyful song and to reach deeply into ourselves and touch our own heart. There are three components to this practice. Hayley Price Hayley has been practising yoga and meditation since she was a child. She is a qualified Yoga Therapist, trained extensively in both Eastern and Western schools of Yoga, Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta, bringing these approaches together with creativity, fluidity and compassion.and a focus on presence, compassion and embodiment. Music and the voice are important components of what she shares. Singing is Hayley’s passion. She has been facilitating groups in Kirtan and Universal songs for the last 11 years. She is literally moved by sound and the restorative effect it can induce. It is, indeed, a joy to see people come together through the language of music, the language of the heart. Her work has seen her travel around the world, sharing a holistic approach to yoga that honours the individual and serves body, mind, heart and spirit. She facilitates workshops and retreats as well as ongoing groups and individual programmes for personal development. Each session with Hayley will draw upon her wealth of lived experience in yoga and the healing arts, meditation , applied yoga philosophy, yoga nidra, voice work and somatic psychology. For Hayley, Yoga is something so much more than just stretching. It is every facet of life brought alive. It is every breath fully inhaled and exhaled without force. It is meeting every moment of your Self over and over again in the deepest intimacy and expression of your own truth. It is an ever dynamic relationship with life itself. Having spent many years teaching and studying in Asia, California and Central America, her teaching is influenced and informed by her long term practice of mindfulness meditation, shamanism, her extensive training through the ashrams and spiritual communities she has lived in, such as the Bihar School of Yoga and the Esalen Institute, and her ongoing studies with her teachers, Bo Forbes, Mariana Caplan and Linda Hartley in somatic yoga and psychology. A major source of her inspiration comes from her main teachers, Adyashanti, Judith Blackstone, Jack Kornfield and Marlies Cocheret. As much as Hayley loves to share her knowledge through teaching, she is also a committed student.
