Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on21st September. It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence.
This day was established through the tireless efforts of Jeremy Gilley, founder of “Peace One Day” and truly demonstrates how one dedicated individual can transform our world:

Jeremy has suggested a theme for this year’s Peace Day:
“Who will you make peace with?”
So, as part of the global celebration of peace, we’ve been guided to gather in the ancient sacred site of Avebury, one of the planet’s most significant Earth energy points. It’s a few days before Equinox,a time of balance, of equal day and night a perfect time to reflect on peace, both inner and outer.
This gathering is about being the peace we wish to see in the world.
We’ll be co-creating this event with Adrian Mieras and Helen Keeley of the Avebury Heart Centre.
We all love using sound to inspire inner and outer peace. However, it’s that delicious nectar of silence that follows the sounds which, once tasted, makes you yearn for more. It’s in that profound silence that deep peace can be experienced.
We’ll be using a variety of approaches to enhance peace including:
• Peace Gong Baths with Paiste Planet Gongs.
• Meditations to inspire open heartedness and loving kindness.
• Crystal Bowl attunements.
• Mantra, toning and songs of peace.
• Group Soundscapes exploring peace.
• Making peace with our planet as we journey around the ancient stones.
Peace begins with us, and within us. As the philosopher Lao-Tse said in sixth century BCE:
If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbours.
If there is to be peace between neighbours,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.
