As a young vocalist and musician, Narayana, then known as Karen Grace was singing and writing popular music and recorded for Polydor Records, working with the best people in the Australian music industry including John Farnham and Skyhooks. She performed on national television shows, recorded radio and television commercials and won worldwide awards for her song writing.
What she experienced in the commercial world led her to embark upon a personal healing journey into meditation, awareness techniques, colour therapy, sound therapy, kinesiology, NLP, raw foods, healthy living, yoga and other modalities. She became an Aura-Soma colour therapist, a Vibrational Retraining sound therapist and became a shamanic and energy healer.
Once lacking confidence and terrified of improvising, Narayana began to channel spontaneous healing colour songs to audiences, transmitting the magical gifts of colour and sound. Her special course, the Colours We Sing, used these magical gifts to help the average person enhance their self-expression and to develop more confidence and ease in singing, speaking and communicating.
Narayana has over 35 years experience as a teacher, facilitator and performer and during her time in the UK, she taught at Vocal-Tech, now called Tech Music Schools and was also Head of Vocals for the Academy of Music and Sound until her return to Australia in 2011.
After spending 15 rewarding years in the UK, teaching singing conventionally and exploratively, Narayana returned to Australia and now runs a not-for-profit community space promoting wellbeing and awareness through yoga, sound, frequency and meditation near Gympie, Queensland.
