Arlene Dunkley-Wood

Arlene has been in the wellness industry for over 4 decades : offers Scaravelli Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Doula Support, Reiki level 2, Craniosacral Therapy, Mizan, Therapeutic Massage for Female Reproductive Health, and Therapeutic Massage for adults. She has a dipBACP Counsellor.  Her passion for women mental and emotional health has helped her to train with The Birth Republic as one of their facilitators for healing birth trauma in the perinatal period.  

CPD is very important to Arlene's development and during the pandemic she decide train in the medium of Sound Healing.  Firstly with Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl training with COSH and was so inspired  by the benefits to her clients, that she continued to further her training with Sheila Whittaker with Gongs.  In January 2026, she has continued deepening her practice by attending a 2 day CPD training with Bear Love at Sacred Sound.  Discovering techniques on the Flummies which Bear created. This has become her new passion.  Now the proud owner of 7 gongs of all vibrations and sizes.  "Her sound baths are extraordinary.  'If you haven't been to one already, you need to go" Juiliet C.

 
Arlene is now a registered and certified sound bath practitioner.  Her training with Sheila Whittaker: has helped her gain confidence in her Gongs mastery. In 2024 she was invited with her son as part of BALM SOUND (mum and son duo) to play at the Meltdown Festival in June 2024, at the South Bank Centre.  Curated by Chaka Khan.  "We were both honoured and excited to have this opportunity."  Since the sellout Meltdown event, she has had great response and now seeking to work more widely.  Arlene works with different centres in collaboration as well as independently and always looking to work in partnership to bring the healing power of sound to the wider community.

In 2025 she has performed regularly in Wanstead area, but also has been part of a care package to Hackney Carers and Residents of Canary Wharf.  She is also available for corporate events and recently was invited to NBC Universal as a wellbeing package to their employees with BALM Sound.
