This exciting opportunity is being offered following several years of work and research b yDr John Cornwall and Dr Trish Vella-Burrows, into music as therapeutic and community engagement to enhance wellbeing and quality of life.The Department of Professional Development is working with the Sidney de Haan Centre for Arts and Health to offer this postgraduate certificate.


About the course


The postgraduate certificate sits within a Masters programme and on successful completion, you will achieve 60 Masters level credits or a postgraduate certificate in Enabling Learning:Music as Therapeutic Communication. You could then proceed to stage 2 of the MA or take the postgraduate certificate as a qualification in its own right.


Who is this course suitable for?


This course is suitable for teachers, managers, parents, health and social care workers. You don’t have to be a music specialist or musically trained as the course specifically aims to raise confidence in using music and musical activities in your work as a medium for therapeutic communication.
