Academy of Sound Therapy - Sound Therapy Practitioner Course Prospectus

The Sound Therapy Practitioner Course consists of a mixture of:
• on-line 1:1 lessons
• in-person 1:1 days
• homework
• reading
• independent research elements to the course
• case studies

This course is ideal for someone already on their sound therapy journey, who has a basic understanding of at least one of the core instruments used on the course.
The core sound instruments covered are gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and shamanic instruments, though other instruments are introduced: crystal singing bowls, tuning forks and percussion instruments.

The course will incorporate the know-how of why things work so that there is a background understanding, however throughout the training I will be encouraging you to work with your spirit team and guides to work intuitively, as in essence once you have made a connection to a particular sacred sound instrument the instrument will play you!
The award of the Sound Therapy Practitioner certificate is only gained after successful completion of the course material, homework and marking of your case studies.

This course is accredited by IPHM, and will enable you to work and gain insurance as a qualified Sound Therapy Practitioner.

Admission onto the course is by prior phone conversion with the tutor to ascertain if this course is a good fit for you.
It is highly preferred that a student will have previously undertaken another energy healing course (such as Reiki to Practitioner Level) prior to this one and have been practicing with their sound therapy instruments beforehand, given the more intensive 1 to 1 nature of the course.

The teaching cover the following key aspects:
• Grounding
• Space clearing and preparing the healing space
• Sounding the OM
• Vocal Toning the chakras
• Shamanic & percussion Instruments
• Tibetan Singing Bowls and tingshas
• Working with Archangel Sandalphon, your guides and spiritual team
• Crystal Singing Bowls
• Tuning Forks
• Gongs
• Client Care and Best Practices
• Contraindications
• Code of Ethics and Conduct
• Homework throughout the course and especially following the online elements
• Case Studies

The other focus of the course is to include a service element to it – that of being a ‘Sound Warrior’, bringing balance and order to humanity and Mother Earth through sound.

Online 1:1 Element (5 lessons, approximately 1 – 1.5 hours per lesson)
The first lessons of the course can be taught online in live 1:1 sessions over Zoom, and covers:
• Grounding & Sounding the OM
• Space clearing and preparing the healing space & Vocal Toning the chakras
• Shamanic & percussion Instruments
• Introduction to Tibetan Singing Bowls and tingshas
• Introduction to Gongs

Each of the online lessons are typically spaced one week apart which helps to allow time to integrate each lesson before the next and the recommendation would be for these to be weekly or fortnightly. Each session builds on the previous. I will set you homework to help you practice what you have learnt then the start of the next lesson will go over this homework and how you got on with the practice.

Following the in-person days should there be anything that needs further tuition that either you or I feel that would benefit you then this can be added and will be included in the course price but of course it can’t be unlimited. For instance you might buy a gong or a bowl following the in person days and want to show it to me/ ask questions etc before you start your case studies, then you would contact me and together we would arrange a suitable date and time to accommodate this.

In person 1:1 Element (3 full days)
Sound is a felt vibrational therapy so although some areas can be covered online the majority needs to be in person so that you too can experience the sound vibration and gain an appreciation of what your clients will feel.
This also gives you the opportunity to try different gongs, singing bowls etc before you decide what you wish to buy for yourself.
A typical teaching day would be from 10am to 5pm with an hour break for lunch.
The in person days can be on consecutive days or one day per week/weekend, it is totally up to you and any constraints on my calendar.

Case Studies
There is a requirement to complete 12 case studies and included in the course are short online 1:1 catch ups after each case study to see how you are doing and to offer feedback etc.
You will submit case study write-ups as soon as possible after giving each case study session so that they can be marked with the intent of providing constructive feedback and to offer you support before you move on to the next one.
The in person training will fully detail what is required with a practice included to give you the confidence to begin.
You will have between 3 to 12 months to complete your case studies.

Homework, additional reading and research
Throughout the course I will set you homework, which will be predominantly asking you to practice what you have been taught in the previous lesson.
At the end of a lesson I will email you the lesson notes which will also detail homework as well as suggested suppliers and links and give you links or suggestions for further reading/ research.
You will need to allow 2-3 hours per week for homework, particularly during the first 5 online lessons phase.
You may also wish to keep a journal to aid you on your sound journey.

The full price for this course is £1250 but will be discounted to £999 for the first 10 students. There are currently 5 spaces remaining at the discounted price.
