About the 2013 Sound Healing Immersion Intensive June 20th-23rd, 2013, four of the world’s foremost experts in the art and science of sound healing will come together to immerse retreat participants in the sacred power of sound. This four day intensive program is ideal for experienced sound healing professionals as well as holistic practitioners who wish to incorporate sound healing into their work. The course will be of specific interest to naturopathic and osteopathic doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and other professionals in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. The program will include instruction on how to structure and conduct a Sound Healing Session with a client, and how to recalibrate and realign energy centers of the body through the use of sound.Those who seek personal transformation through the miracle of sound will also find this to be an incredibly empowering and enriching experience. The internationally renowned faculty includes Dr. John Beaulieu, Mitch Nur, Ph.D., Peter Blum, Timothy Hill, Pierre Garreaud, Beth YIvisaker and Philippe Pascal Garnier. The Menla Mountain Retreat Center, located in Phoenicia, NY, just 20 minutes from Woodstock is a stunning venue, known for its beauty and its acoustics. A certificate of completion, signed by all retreat faculty members, will be awarded to participants who complete this training in sound healing. “Be the sound you would like to hear” says sound healer, teacher, and retreat organizer Philippe Garnier. Under the guidance of these remarkable scholars, doctors, healers, and sound practitioners, students will explore the healing potential of tuning forks, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, Sacred Gongs and Bells, indigenous horns, voice, drums, and other percussion instruments. Participants will learn the therapeutic application of these tools to create sacred space, shift and expand consciousness, address a range of physical conditions, restore balance, and promote positive change at the cellular level. “Facilitated by the sacred sound of instruments like crystal singing bowls and tuning forks, we can reach deep into the subconscious and gain access to the universal energy field, finding clarity of mind, as well as physical and emotional healing,” says Garnier. Some highlights of the retreat include the following presentations on the theory, art, and science of sound healing. Dr. John Beaulieu, Ph.D. will present how the sounds of the planets are used in sound healing. Students will then learn methods of using planet and asteroid sounds for self healing and integration into healing sessions. Mitch Nur, PhD will presenting a program on the applications of sacred sound, harmonics, and psychoacoustial approaches for therapeutic conversion. Mitch will bring his experience as one of North America’s leading sound therapists and offer insights and perceptions on how to become a better sound practitioner. Philippe Pascal Garnier, will be presenting a master class on Crystal Singing Bowl to discover the optimal use of these very special vibrational instruments. We will learn about the natural affinity and resonance we hold within our crystal core consciousness and how the crystal bowl can be integrated into our life and professional practice to enhance therapeutic outcomes. Timothy Hill will demonstrate and train us, through harmonic singing, to deepens and enhances our relationship with our natural voice, giving singers a direct experience of the physical laws of sound, powerful insight into the nature of harmony and a glimpse at the roots of human language and song. With Peter Blum, a senior hypnosis instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists and Sound Healer, We will explore the strong parallels between the work of traditional indigenous shamans, and the approaches and techniques of contemporary western hypnotherapy. He will be addressing two fundamental questions: How can today’s hypnotherapists better utilize music and sound healing practices; and how can those who are following the path of sound healing learn to incorporate spoken “hypnotic” language into their systematic understanding. Pierre Garreaud, Peruvian Sound Healer Shaman and teacher, will offer a sound healing ceremony in the style of the Rainforest shamans, the “maestros Ayahuasqueros”. Pierre will invite the spirit of the mother plant, the jungle spirits, and his spiritual lineage of teachers and masters to help participants clear and advance in their awakening process. He will guide students in a process he designed called Ancestral DNA Clearing. “Participants will experience profound personal transformation as a result of being surrounded with these healing frequencies so completely for these four unparalleled days,” says Garnier. “To have the opportunity to study with these teachers in this intensive retreat on the sacred and already energetically charged land of Menla will be a unique experience that will stay with them forever.
