USA, ANDOVER, MA - NADA YOGA • Harmonic Resonance Live Performance, Circles of Wisdom, 90 Main Street, Andover, MA, 15 Nov 2013
The Yoga of Sound involves a deep listening to the inner body and the outer world of music and harmonic sound. This ancient practice of sacred sound meditation and opening to the nature of sonic vibration can broaden the consciousness and instill creative well-being. Sound is an excellent stimulant to the parasympathetic nervous system, and can release tension and stress, aids the digestive system as well as sleep disorders. This program utiliizes Himalayan Singing Bowls, large Gongs, ritual bells, Shruti, Vocals, and more; to create a sonic landscape ideal for meditative transformation. The opportunity to meditate, or for that matter, to just relax into the sound current or soundstream can be an uplifting experience. The Surangama Sutra for example, delves into the acute awareness that one can develope through sacred sound. Nada Yoga was once practiced in the forests of ancient India by Sadhus and Sages, to harmonize the inner self, and create a platform for meditative contemplation. Whereas to listening to prerecorded music, a live presentation affords the direct experience of making contact with the energy of sound. Please wear loose fitting clothing, bring a water bottle, yoga mat and or blanket if susceptible to cold.
