The Autumn Equinox is both a time of balance and a time of movement. The day and night are of equal length and Mother Earth is tilted with the equator facing directly towards the sun; so it is regarded as a time of balance. Yet the season of summer is accelerating towards winter and the nights are lenghthening. Our natural world is being advised in the strongest terms to, "Get ready for winter, prepare and store your food, make sure you are strong and ready for the bitter winds and frosted earth that is coming." Here in the Northern Hemisphere is the time to begin to go deep; drum and story tell, sing songs and make craft, repair your winter coats and wash your warmest blankets. This will be an evening of music, drumming and story telling where you can take part, sing ritual songs. make your hands warm on the drum skin and dance if you wish.
