Chanting is a sacred gift — an expression of divine grace. It offers a joyful and accessible gateway into deep meditation, inviting us to gently rest in the present moment. As we immerse ourselves in the rhythmic repetition of simple mantras, the mind begins to quiet, and we are drawn into a space of inner stillness and peace.
The sacred practice of chanting mantras is a wellspring of joy and soul nourishment. I am continually moved by the profound stillness that arises from this devotion—a silence that is not empty, but full of presence. This silence is a vital thread woven into all of my sessions. I offer devotional chants, both meditative and ecstatic, invoking ancient Sanskrit mantras and occasional English words, carried on simple, heart-opening melodies that are accessible to the Western ear. Through repetition, these mantras become portals—sacred keys that unlock the heart and dissolve the illusion of separation. Chanting becomes a prayer in motion, inviting us to voice our spirit without fear or judgment. In this space, we return to the oneness within, and compassion naturally awakens like a flower opening to the light.
This practice is for everyone — no experience needed. All that’s required is a willingness to be present and open to whatever unfolds. Whether you're seeking calm after a busy week, the joy of singing with others, a way to connect with the Divine, or a moment of heartfelt stillness, chanting meets you exactly where you are.
Tim Chalice has been leading Kirtan for nearly 20 years, appearing at many bhakti and yoga festivals, gatherings and retreats, as well as releasing two Kirtan CDs.
Tim's heartfelt music offers a space for stillness, joy, and deep connection. Blending ancient mantras with soulful melodies, Tim leads devotional singing events that invite participants to open their voices and awaken their hearts. Whether you're new to Kirtan or a long-time practitioner, Tim’s music serves as a bridge — connecting tradition with contemporary spiritual practice. His gentle presence and intuitive musicality create an inclusive and uplifting environment for all.
"Tim sings his devotional chants straight from the heart. His voice has a rare quality of authenticity. With him it's all about the soul, but his music is great too, lyrical, uplifting and inspiring." - Ranchor Prime, Author & Publisher
