Contact Peter on: [email protected] Sound Gong Bath provides regular gong baths meditations for groups of people at public venues in the South West of England. A gong bath is a very relaxing and blissful experience. The term "gong bath" means that you are bathed in sound waves, there are no clothes removed or water involved, you lie down on your back with your eyes closed and have a blanket and a pillow for your comfort. A gong bath meditation is a type of sound therapy, where the musical instrument the "gong" is used to entrain the group who are lying down behind the gongs as they are being played. Entrainment is the changing of brainwave states; this happens because the gongs have so many harmonics and are played in a none rhythmic way, so after a while the brain can not follow and just surrenders and this is when you will go into a dream like meditative state. When the session ends after one hour, I gently bring the group back with bells, rattles and rainstick or other instruments and bottled water is then handed out.
