The chakras represent our soul life, containing all the aspects of our psychology. When we are taken over by negative states and feel limited. the chakras are held in check and not vibrating as they should. The application of vocal sound in various forms of toning, mantras and chanting produce the sympathetic vibrations to re-tune the chakras and release their fine energies. James introduces gentle movements in conjunction with some of the sounds that encourage and direct them. He also teaches the Taoist healing sounds for strengthening the organs of the body and engages the group in natural sound rituals and chanting.
