This workshop is for those who love to sing in harmony and are at ease blending the timbre of their voice with others, listening and balancing volumes as well as singing in tune. It is for choir members, community choir leaders and for those who love small group singing. Some participants may wish to add some of these songs to their choir or small group repertoire.
There is no pressure to sing one voice to a part, but if you wish to, occasionally we will hear a song sung by a small group to hear more clearly the way the parts weave together. The texts of the songs are inspiring and sometimes magical. In moments through the weekend Helen will speak briefly about each writer and how their song came to be composed. When a song has more lyrics or is a little longer, Helen will provide scores for those who wish but there is no need to be able to read music. Scores will enable us to cover more songs over the weekend, but each part will be gone through separately.
