This workshop is for absolute beginners on the harmonium. Sheila has developed this unique workshop to meet an obvious need for people who want to learn to play the harmonium (miniature organ) to accompany their chanting. It helps if you already have some knowledge of the piano keyboard, but this is certainly not essential, as skilled tuition will be given. At the end of the day you should be able to play at least one easy chant, and you will have very simple music to take away for your own ongoing practise. This workshop will also include work with the smaller and more basic brother of the harmonium – the Shruti box, if we have time. Numbers will be limited so that individual attention can be given to all participants. Harmoniums will be provided. An information flyer is available – please email Sheila for more details.
