, Healing Georgian Harmony, Nina Chandler & Jo-Anne Hale, Isbourne Holistic Centre, 15 Sep 2012

Research has demonstrated the healing ability of Georgian polyphony and this afternoon workshop will offer the opportunity to join with others in creating a healing singing community.

If you already sing in a choir and would like to sample these extraordinary harmonies you will find yourself connecting with "the intangible nature" of the Georgian Polyphonic singing tradition, granted UNESCO World Heritage status.
If you are a beginner singer or just fancy the sound of joining with others to learn some "tingle factor" songs you'd be very welcome. You can take the songs back to your choirs too....notation will be available to pass on.

The workshop is open to those who have no experience either of singing or of the Georgian sound and those who may have sung a song or two before. It is helpful if you are able to hold a harmony against a tune.
The workshop facilitators have been leading and singing songs from this ancient country's tradition for over ten years and offer their expertise in making these harmonies accessible to new singers with humour and knowledge.
