Intuitive Music explores our creativity with sound, through group improvisation. The course takes us from the fertile ground of silence to playing original music together using the voice and beautiful sounding, easy-to-play instruments. Stefan Cartwright, accompanied by guest players Erik Huele and Andrew Hodges, share simple and fun ways to bring the best out of our playing, including games and structures which encourage spontaneity and inventiveness. Intuitive Music is about our ability to listen and respond creatively to what is actually happening within and around us in real time: it is about being fully present and alive. The weekend includes simple movement and relaxation techniques that free body and mind, helping us to sing and play with greater ease and confidence. Musical instruments are provided and you are welcome to bring your own. Intuitive Music is open to all regardless of musical experience. It can also be used as part of the foundation course, Music Another Way.
