UK, LONDON - Creating sound together, Sofia, , 16 Nov 2013
Creating sound together is an natural human impulse. We have created music from time immemorial. I feel the best evidence that active sound works is the smile it brings to the faces of the people who take part. There is a wonderful bond that forms during group work that can be beneficial to all ages and levels of ability. Active sound therapy is when you become actively involved in the production of sound rather than just passively receiving it. Our group will be facilitated in a multitude of ways to enable an exploration of sound through soundscapes. Lot's of interesting instruments from around the world can be used and it is a great way to experience the therapeutic qualities of sound in a dynamic and interesting way. Soundscapes are simply a chance for people to work together as a team to create a 'sound bath' of their own. I will direct the group to create their own sonic piece to open up their personal creativity. Through the use of instruments such as singing bowls, gongs and percussion, participants have the opportunity to experience and explore the use of sound. Each member of the group are encouraged to work through particular challenges and concepts. No previous experience is necessary and if you think you can't do it... think again! Active sound work is a good way of breaking down any barriers and setting people free :) www.facebook.com/IndeepsoundsItsAllAboutSoundTherapy
