This particular concert of an entire bank holiday weekend of events is devoted to both contemplative and ecstatic music in the beautiful, spacious top studio of Colet House.
It features music of Alexander Scriabin Vers la flamme), Arvo Part (Spiegel im Spiegel), Alan Hovhaness (Suite for clarinet and piano, Erik Satie (Three Gnossienne); Jean Catoire (Two sonatas) and James D'Angelo (Four Contemplative Songs on poems of Thomas Merton).
The performers are: James D'Angelo, piano; Elisabeth Irvine, soprano; Stephen Bennett, clarinet and Chloe Bowers-Soriano, violin.
The concert will be enhanced by special and colourful lighting projections and effects.
The second early evening concert includes the music of Lawrence Ball and a modern dance company.
