UK, TIVERTON, DEVON - TIVERTON FREESTYLE DRUM CIRCLE, Peter Whitehart, The Oak Room ( former United Reformed Church) St Peter Street Tiverton EX16 6NU - behind the big blue doors!, 12 Oct 2014
Three hours of Drum Circle. Come and join us on the second Sunday of every month for a freestyle drum circle, no drumming experience is necessary. I provide drums and other percussion instruments but you are very welcome to bring your own drum. Tea's, coffee and biscuits are available. You are free to come along and leave when you want to, it’s not necessary to stay for the complete three hours. The three hours will be spent freestyle drumming (everyone having a drum or other percussion instruments and just playing). This may begin as complete chaos but can soon take on a group energy and gel into a musical experience. Drumming conversations begin to emerge as people become connected beyond the music being played. No previous drumming is necessary, everyone can drum. This is a time to be free and express yourself through the drum, to create your own rhythm and merge as a group. This is a time to get lost in the drum and enjoy the experience. I will play throughout the three hours to be of support to the group but I will not be taking a leading role. There is freedom to play as much or as little as you would like; you may want to change instruments part way through, and this is fine. Also, you may want to dance, sing or just sit down and close your eyes and experience the drumming - be free to do what feels right for you. There are no rules, no dos and don’ts, this is a time to just drum within a group setting. It’s for everyone from experienced drummers to those who have never drummed before. In a nut shell: its a gathering of people who drum together with no agenda prepared, just drum dance sing and having a great experiance. http://www.sound-gong-bath.co.uk/sessions/tiverton-freestyle-drum-circle 2014 Dates Sunday 12th October, 6.00pm - 9.00pm £5 per person.
