, The reclamation of Innocence: healing past sexual abuse, Yehuda Tagar, Regent's College, Inner Circle, Regent's Park, London NW1 4NS, 07 Dec 2012
Sexual abuse of children is the most destructive attack on human beings at the most vulnerable stage of their arrival to life. It is bent of preventing the ability to healthily unfold one’s body, soul, spirit and social interaction. It can damage the natural right for trust, dignity, self esteem, integrity and the opportunity to grow into one’s full potential. It effects a huge proportion of the population with debilitating syndromes for the rest of one’s life. Verbal communication and conversational counselling are limited in their ability to access, address and redress the wounds in the depth of the psychosomatic dimension of one’s memory.
Psychophonetics is a method of psychotherapy and self-healing which combines expressive, non-verbal modes of intelligence and communication in extension of the therapeutic conversation.
The lecture will introduce insights into the dynamics of survivors’ experience of sexual abuse discovered through years of Psychophonetics work and the powerful processes of recovery created in this modality. This will be outlined, demonstrated and explored in more depth during the workshop on the following day.
