UK, WEST SUSSEX - Practitioner Level Diploma in Sound Therapy Module 2, Lyz Cooper and team, University of Chichester, Bognor Regis Campus, 26 Jun 2019

• We love what we do!
• We believe in making a difference with therapeutic sound and music
• We use the latest research in neuroscience, music psychology and sound cognition as well as years
of in-house research and development to support our work
• We are passionate about creating positive, vibrant and informative learning spaces
• Our aim is to support our students to build healthy and thriving practices

Working at practitioner level means that you are able to help your client to improve their health and wellbeing in a deep and focused way using a mindful and reflective questioning technique. The practitioner then selects the best instruments and/or techniques to support the client. As well as having specific techniques, there is room for professional judgment and creativity – it is rare that any two treatments are exactly the same.

A Practitioner Level Diploma is a high qualification in sound therapy and no previous experience is needed.

The course comprises 2 x 5 day modules plus online learning and case studies which enable a deep level of experiential learning. This course primarily teaches you how to provide 1:1 treatments, however you can also apply many of these methods in a group environment.

Module 1 is an in-depth sonic experience where we present our method, our research and allow plenty of discussion following sound bath sessions.

There is coursework between modules 1 and 2 where you can explore your chosen instruments in more depth.

Module 2 is full of practical work – the class divides into workstations where the techniques can be developed and the reflective element of the course deepens during in-class sessions. We also explore musicality and blending the instruments in more depth as well as how to build your practice.

Following this module there are case study sessions.
