UK, WEST SUSSEX - Professional Diploma in Sound and Voice-Arts Therapy, Lyz Cooper, The University of Chichester (Bognor Regis Campus) West Sussex, 22 Mar 2023
This course offers a wonderfully creative and expressive way of helping people to improve their health and wellbeing with therapeutic sound and voice. During the course we will be working with a range of different instruments (percussion, drums, chimes, gongs, voice, singing bowls and more!) to create therapeutic soundscapes for a range of different therapeutic outcomes including improving mood-state, reducing anxiety and chronic pain. As well as therapeutic soundscapes we will also cover sonic art, drum and rhythm circles, sound and movement, tone poems, vocal games and vocal and musical improvisation.
Our work is supported by research, giving the facilitator confidence and support to run transformative group sessions.
Some of the course is held via virtual classroom (Zoom), keeping the cost down whilst still providing a rich experience and once techniques are practiced in your own time at home with support from your tutor. There will be an in-person intensive held at Chichester University on 8th and 9th July where all of the techniques will be practiced and unpacked in more depth.
If you'd like to work with sound and voice as a creative and therapeutic art-form this course is for you!
