From Tree and Star to the Song of the Heart, a Sounding Bowls, Active workshop. The program develops out of the question: “How come such a simple wooden instrument has such profound healing effects?” There will be many different Sounding Bowls at this workshop, everyone will get time on various of their choice, the sounds and music we make will weave into and form the foundations of the workshop. Growing out of this we will work with four levels of being in the Sounding Bowls: Body; Form; Process, Being. This experiential day will begin with the story of how Sounding Bowls came into being. You will be guided into deepening your feeling for trees through a deep understanding of their being and rôle in human life. We will touch on how a particular ‘form’ comes from spiritual intention (the stars) down through levels of being into an actual physical form. We will touch on sacred geometry using group movement and paper exercises to explore how spirals lead sound into and out of Sounding Bowls, beautifying and amplifying the experience. We will consider the nature of work seeking the keys that make work into a meditation. One to one exercises with Sounding Bowls explore how we are intimately formed of the same substance as our fellow human beings and how we echo in our hearts all of human experience. Circle exercises exploring the relationship between love and fear will encounter the interface between human awareness and creation. This workshop is responsive to the presence of all it’s participants and aims to offer real tools for opening the heart:- Insights, exercises and meditations including sound meditations based on note sequences that warm and strengthen our ability to be here, now and of service to our world. I had a very enjoyable, informative, moving, and deeply satisfying day at Tobias' workshop. I loved the experiential nature of it, the many chances to play the wonderful sounding bowls , to move, speak and draw, and Tobias sharing of his knowledge and experience. I left feeling uplifted and inspired to discover more.
