Project Globalsound - deadline approaches

I have been blown away by the number of people who have wanted to take part in Project Globalsound!! We have had submissions from people all over the world and they are continuing to come in. There are too many to mention but a few contributors that may be familiar are as follows - Jonathan Goldman, Frank Perry, Jonathan Cope, Ashera Hart to name a few.

Please get your submission to me by the end of the month by emailing to mail@healthysound.com It is really simple - all I need is 1 - 3 minutes of MP3, WAV or even a mobile phone recording (youd be amazed at what weve received!). We prefer MP3 but can work with the others. Please keep it simple as we will be weaving your sound into a soundbath along with other peoples submissions.

A statement of 1 - 3 words you want to share with the world
Your town and country

And thats it!

We will be producing a short film to go with the soundbath. The aim of this project is to share

Review of Tao of Sound

I just read John Beaulieus review of Fabien Mamans new book, The Tao of Sound, and I found it to be a very thoughtful, gracious and respectful contemplation. Would that more of our sound community might make such efforts to further the overall work by supporting others in their endeavors! Loved what he said about “The Way.” Way to go!!!

John Cage

In 1951 the composer John Cage visited the anechoic chamber at Harvard University. An anechoic chamber is a room designed in such a way that the walls, ceiling and floor absorb all sounds made in the room, rather than reflecting them as echoes. Such a chamber is also externally sound-proofed. Cage entered the chamber expecting to hear silence. He wrote later - I heard two sounds, one high and one low. When I described them to the engineer in charge, he informed me that the high one was my nervous system in operation, the low one my blood in circulation.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om santih santih santih is a Sanskrit mantra that is used after mantras, prayers, meditation or yoga. It comes from the root verb ‘Sham’ meaning ‘to be at peace’. Shanti means calm, tranquillity, peace, permanent satisfaction, fulfilment, contentment or stillness. Shanti is repeated three times to bring peace to the three realms of existence.

Project Global Sound - Growing & Glowing!

I am so excited about how well Project Global Sound is growing! So far I have had submissions from the USA, Australia, Germany, Finland, Russia and of course the UK. This project aims to create a worldwide soundscape - a global community that expresses unity and wellbeing through sharing their sound. You do not have to be experienced in sound work, or a sound healer or therapist. If you have a chant, song or instrument that youd like to share with the world please send it to us by the 10th October and we will weave it in with other submissions to create the world-wide soundscape of no more than 15 minutes in duration.
The soundscape will also be accompanied by a video which will comprise of pictures of the contributors, their statements (1 - 3 words) and their town and country. The sound and video will be sent to all contributors to broadcast and we will also put it on YouTube to share with the world on the 21.12.11.
All contributors will have a logo to email to people and

From the Inner Heart

Imagine knowing yourself so much that when you play and compose music that there was absolutely no need for recognition or acknowledgement, and that the music that came forth from you was pure and simply your inner hearts contribution to the joy of this world.

Imagine then knowing yourself so clearly all the way through to your inner heart that you know that when you compose, sing and play that you are not bringing forth any of your unhealed emotions or any needs, and that the music is not used as a vehicle for any of these things, so that it is not causing any energetic harm or imposition.

Imagine also, being able to feel the effects when these things are being brought through.

The Harmony of Oneness

We have just finished our Oz Healing Power of Sound advanced course... (A 5-day residential.) It is amazing how so much is revealed through our voices. ( … so there was a little processing at the start …?) But after a few days we started to create a beautiful strong and unimposing sound, singing together some of our classic songs like Amazing Grace, Soulful Union, Wise Men Say etc.
It was truly an awesome sound with everyone singing with all of themselves, starting to not hold back, and at the same time, being spherical with their sound, supporting each other AND the group. The harmonies were just beauty-full. There was no need to structure the harmonies. By everyone being themselves, we experienced the harmony of Oneness.
