New book : "In the Heart of the Gong Space"

I am delighted to announce the publication of my second book : In the Heart of the Gong Space - the Gong as a Spiritual Tool, which is now available from my website : www.healingsound.net/products.htm. This book goes far more deeply into our work with the gong, and at 372 pages, is quite a chunky book. The back cover text says : In this book the spiritual aspects of the gong’s power are explained more fully, illustrated with fascinating insights into the author’s own personal experiences with this remarkable instrument. The gong is essentially a tool for the raising of consciousness, and this is discussed fully in the book. The book is divided into two sections : Section 1 is devoted mainly to the practical aspects of the gong in therapy situations. Foundations of Sound-based Therapy at The Open Center

Many of you have asked about how you can learn about my work. While I am working on developing the process to teach others eventually, now the background, the concepts, the processes, and my new work going forward will be shared in a very special weekend at The Open Center in Manhattan, NY. As you will see below, The Open Center offers The Sound &amp Music Institute and the attendees get a full array of information, exposure and insight into the world of sound and music training.

Less is More

I have been working with sound for over twenty years. In that time I have learnt that - 1. Less is more - it is the quality of our sound that is more important than the quantity. 2. Softer sounds are more powerful for healing than louder sounds. 3. The healer must keep working on making themselves a clear channel for sound healing. 4. Our loving intention is key in sound healing. This is transmitted to our client in our sound. 5. Every person will respond differently to sound healing. 6. We can avoid imposing our sounds on our clients by getting feedback from them throughout the treatment. 7. We need to be open to respond to our clients needs rather than having a set approach to giving sound healing.
